Strategic development of projects and persistence over a long period of time has been essential to our success at reducing weed infestations along the Manning coastline.Wehave established a funding base (Coastcare and Environmental Trusts of NSW) to undertake surveys and develop plans to guide restoration activities. MCCG undertakes a range of activities and projects along the Manning coastline, including: - Specialist Regeneration Projects
- Volunteer Worker Program
- Weed Reduction Program
- ‘A Coastline Survey of Asparagaceae and other Environmental Weeds’ was undertaken by Dr Geoff Williams and Daintry Gerrand in 1998 for 51 coastal sites between Crowdy Head in the north and Hallidays Point in the south.
- LITTORAL RAINFOREST Restoration Action Plans were prepared by Dr Geoff Williams and Daintry Gerrand in 1998 for the 8 most significant littoral rainforest remnants within the local government area – Crowdy Head, Harrington, Manning Point, Farquhar Park, Old Bar, Saltwater, Diamond Beach, Red Head, Hallidays Point.
Asparagus Study In 2007, MCCG will revisit the 51 original survey sites of the Asparagaceae Study to assist our project planing and assess for any new and emerging environmental weeds.
